An Educator Who Changed My Life

Who has inspired you to push beyond the ordinary?  Who has motivated you to overcome barriers and learn from challenges?  Who has been passionately committed to your educational growth and development? Who has encouraged you to be a better you?

Think about someone at school who has changed your worldview.  You can choose a teacher, counselor, principal, instructional assistant, bus driver, the cafeteria ladies, custodian...any adult who works in our building!  Tell me about how they have changed your life as a student.  What makes them special?  How is your life different because of them?  Be specific!  The best entries will then be produced into a video and submitted for the 2012 KASA Student Video Contest.

Wrapping Up Mulan

How about that wonderful performance the fourth and fifth grade students put on of Mulan Jr.?  It was fantastic!  A great big "CONGRATULATIONS!" goes out to everyone involved in the production.

This week, my classes will be completing one of two tasks based on the performance:

1.) Using SumoPaint, create your own theater poster for the play, Mulan Jr..  Think back to the play & a scene that you really enjoyed & recreate that scene on your poster.

2.) Create a Fakebook page for one of the main characters from the play.  Think about their friends, their biographical information, and the "posts" they would have made throughout the play.
